General thoughts on the matter...

• A cover letter with a 3-5 line bio is required (we want to know who we're dealing with). If you don't include a bio, we'll provide one for you...and, remember, we don't know you. Make them interesting...
• When we say "cover letter" we mean it...Pathwise Press's publications have diversified, so we need to know why and where you are submitting your work. If we receive submissions without a cover letter and we are in a grumpy mood, we might just send them back unread. Here is our minimum requirement for a cover letter..."Hello, my name is______. This is a submission for Bathtub Gin." That isn't too hard, is it?
• Include your name and address on all submissions. An email address or telephone number would be helpful, too.
• If sending via the PO Box, include an SASE with appropriate postage or IRCs. We will no longer respond to inquiries or submissions that do not have return postage.
• If sending via email, send your submission pasted into an email (for literary submissions)...no attachments.
• The review period has changed. Submissions will be accepted between June 1 and September 15. Don't even send anything outside of those dates.
• We will try to respond as soon as possible. However, turnaround time may vary.
• Contributors will be paid one complimentary copy. Extra copies can be purchased at a discount...you can then give them away or sell them for a little pocket-change.

Literary Submissions

• We are looking for words of all types...poetry, short prose, one-act plays, essays, excerpts from novels, reviews, and other unclassifiable musings.
• There are no strict length requirements, but shorter works may have a better chance of being accepted. (Prose should be no more than 3,000 words, Drama no more than 10 pages.)
• Previously published work and simultaneous submissions are OK...just inform us of the fact.

Artwork Submissions

• We will use photography, drawings, illustrations, cartoons, collages, and any other medium capable of 2D reproduction.
• Artwork will be printed in black and white.
• We are a digest-sized publication (8 1/2 x 5 1/2)...keep this in mind when submitting work.
• Artwork must be camera-ready. If you are sending us work via mail, high-quality copies or reproductions are preferred. Attachments of samples are ok or you can direct us to your website.

News Submissions

• If you have news about an upcoming release (small press publication, magazine, etc), newsworthy art events, or any other info you would like to pass along, send us a short note for our "News from the Still" section. Remember to include prices for publications and how to obtain them. Space will be limited...

Advertising

• Rates are as follows:
  2.5x4 inches........$15/issue or $25/year
  2.5x2 inches........$10/issue or $17/year
  2.25x1 inches........$7/issue or $12/year
  We can modify/resize any ad.
