Pathwise Press Chapbook Guidelines

Overview:
In short, the Pathwise Press chapbook guidelines are changing. I am moving away from the cooperative publishing format and taking on all costs of production. For Pathwise to consider your manuscript, I ask that you query first to see if I am accepting manuscripts at that time. If so, then you will be asked to send your complete manuscript (please make sure it is not your only copy!). Keep the specifications described below in mind...if you are sending a 200 page work, then you are wasting your time. The manuscript should be accompanied by a cover letter. If you want your manuscript returned to you, be sure to include a SASE with appropriate postage. Otherwise it will be recycled.

Important Note:
Due to the move to New Orleans, Pathwise Press is not accepting chapbook manuscripts at this time. Until things settle down, the press will be limiting its book publishing. Check back often for updates.

Free copies (author’s and promotional copies) and review copies will not be eligible for royalties. Copies of the book sold outside the United States will receive a royalty of 10%. Royalties will be paid every four months, starting from the date of the second printing. Royalties on books sent out on consignment will not be paid until the books themselves are paid for.

Design/Layout:
Working with authors on design/layout is important to Pathwise Press. I want to match my ideas and capabilities with those of the author. Pathwise Press publications, both chapbooks and the press’ literary magazine, Bathtub Gin, have repeatedly been cited for outstanding content and production values.
